We now have an elite eight for our attendance March Madness competition!
Shout out to the following classes:
Congrats to the competing classroom with the most improved attendance this week: Green's Grizzlies! Their attendance improved by 8% from last week. Thanks for being here every day, Grizzlies!
Great job to the class with the best overall attendance percentage for the week: Riley's Renegades! Mrs. Riley's class had only one absence all week.
Coming in second was another class with only one absence for the entire week: Whaley's Whales. Awesome to see your faces every day!
Here are some stats and facts for last week:
Every competing class had an overall attendance percentage above 90%. Way to go!
Through Tuesday, Mrs. Grant and Mrs. Ridley's classes were tied for the week's highest percentage. They weren't the only class with a close race this week: 6 of the 8 matchups were separated by less than 3% by Wednesday. It really was anyone's game!
On Wednesday, Knick's Knick Knacks and Whaley's Whales were separated by only 0.4%. Thursday and Friday were the deciding days for this matchup, but great work to both homerooms!
Excited to see who makes it to the Final Four! Congrats to the advancing teams, and we appreciate you encouraging your students to be here each and every day!
Elite 8 Matchups:
Hemphill's Heroes vs Minter's Macaws
Riley's Renegades vs Silver's Seaturtles
Grant's Great Group vs Whaley's Whales
Carroll's Crushers vs Green's Grizzlies
Who will advance to the Final Four and be one step closer to bragging rights, Kona Ice, and Pizza?

Great job to the class with the most improved attendance this week: Silvers' Sea Turtles! Their attendance improved by 12% from last week. Congratulations to Mrs. Silvers' class!
The classroom with the best attendance percentage for the week was Vaughn's Vampires! Nice work! Knick's Knick Knacks were right behind them: they had the second-highest percentage, and only 0.2% separated them from the two rooms ahead.
Some fun stats for the week:
We had 8 classrooms start out the week at 100%, but by Tuesday, everyone lost the chance for their perfect week, except 1: Whaley's Whales. Mrs. Whaley's class nearly had a perfect week: there were only 2 absences for the entire week in her room!
On Tuesday, H's Hurricanes and Nix's Nice Ninjas had just about 1% separating them. That increased to a 2.5% difference by Thursday.
On Thursday, Clifford's Cubs and Grant's Great Group were separated by just under 1.5%. This was a nail-biter!
5 classrooms had overall attendance percentages below 90% for the week. That's a lower number than last week, but let's see if each and every classroom can make that goal next week!
11 classrooms had an overall attendance percentage of 95% or higher for the week. This is almost double the number of classrooms that hit that percentage the week before break. Let's see if we have more next week!
Looking forward to some fun matchups next week! Thank you for encouraging your students to be here every day!

The week after the break, we will start the first round of the tournament with six intriguing first-round matchups.
Round one matchups:
Tolleson's Teddy Bears vs Smith's Shining Stars

Hart's Hedgehogs vs Silver's Sea Turtles
Clifford's Cubs vs Grant's Great Group
Knick's Knick Knacks vs McCurdy's Kinder Stars

Whaley's Whales
Great job to all of you! Also, a great job overall: 16 out of 22 classrooms had a final weekly attendance percentage above 90%. Let's see if we can beat that number the week after break! We think we can!
Some more fun stats for you:
We had 100% attendance in two classrooms through Wednesday: Green and Ridley. Green was at 100% for the week until this morning.
Less than 1% separated Hemphill and Green this week, but Ridley and Green were even closer: it was less than 0.25% that separated them.
Hemphill and Ridley were tied at 98.1% on Thursday.
